A boil water advisory has been lifted by the Grantsville Water Department AM Friday, June 15.
ORIGINAL STORY - The Grantsville Water Department has issued a boil water advisory (6/14) for all customers Rt. 16 south starting at the Grantsville VFD station and all customers of the Mt. Zion PSD.
Dave Johnson of the Grantsville Water Dept. says an 8" line broke at 5:30 a.m. Friday, June 14.
The advisory says conditions indicate there is a high probability that water is contaminated, testing has not occurred to deny or confirm the contamination.
Johnson said the line is being fixed and flushed and the boil water advisory will likely last 72 hours.
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST.
Bring all water to a boil, let it
boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water.
Boiled or bottled water should
be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until
further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
