Police reported Wednesday that a 2-year-old boy was attacked and killed by two dogs in St. Marys.
They reported the child walked into a neighbor's yard in the Oak Grove area where he was mauled to death by two mixed-breed animals.
The boy's father found him in the yard behind the neighbor's residence and called 911.
A press release said it was likely he could not have survived the injuries sustained at the scene.
The dogs were removed from the scene and are secured under quarantine at a vet's clinic pending further legal proceedings.
The body was sent to the state medical examiner in Charleston for an autopsy.
The State Police are investigating the incident.
