| M. Phyllis McCoy 69, of Elizabeth WV passed away June 11, 2012 at Camden Clark Memorial Campus after a short illness.
She was born Dec. 30, 1942 in Tariff, Roane County the daughter of the late Hunter DeWeese and Verba (Webb) DeWeese.
She attended Wirt County High School. Phyllis was one of the first magistrates in Wirt County in 1977. She enjoyed reading, playing games on her computer and spending time with her friends and family.
She was a member of the Eastern Stars 128 of Elizabeth WV.
She is survived by her mother; 1 son, Randy McCoy of Charleston WV; 1 daughter, Linda Colebank of Parkersburg WV; 1 grandson, Aaron (Tonya) Colebank of Belpre OH; 2 step grandchildren, Hannah Toncray and Alex Toncray of Belpre; 1 brother, Lloyd William "Bill" DeWeese of Munday WV; 1 sister, Betty (Paul) Kelley of Munday; 6 nieces and nephews, Tina (Dan) Fitzwater of Newark WV, Lisa (Tim) Bunner of Elizabeth,
Jim (Loretta) DeWeese of Elizabeth, Criss (Bob) Welshans of Vienna WV
D.J. (Gladys) DeWeese of Vienna, and Andy DeWeese of Vienna; 5 great nieces and nephews, Matthew and Kelley Bunner, Ashley Welshans, Emmi and Reed Fitzwater.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Services and visitation will be Wed., June 13, 2012. Visitation will start at 4:00 p.m. and services will follow at 7:00 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV.
Interment will follow at a later date at Wolverton Cemetery.
