Glenville, WV - Glenville State College is the official host of the 2012 West Virginia State Folk Festival Parade and Antique Car Show. The parade will take place in downtown Glenville on Saturday, June 23rd at 11:30 a.m. The antique cars will be parked on Main Street immediately after the parade to be judged as well as to be viewed by the public.
Glenville State College President Dr. Peter Barr and his wife Betsy say they are pleased GSC is hosting these events.
"The West Virginia State Folk Festival is such an integral part of Glenville and Gilmer County. Hosting these events is a wonderful opportunity for Glenville State College and a perfect example of how the town and the college work cooperatively together," said Dr. Peter Barr.
"GSC is proud to sponsor this annual event that celebrates our West Virginia heritage and the proud Pioneer spirit," said Betsy Barr.
Parade entries will be judged, and trophies will be awarded to the winners in the following categories: float, band, marching/walking unit, car, and best overall entry. Those interested in participating should submit a completed an entry form by Monday, June 18th. Forms and other Folk Festival information can be found at wvstatefolkfestival.org
