It is long overdue recognizing Henry Cooper of Five Forks, awarding him a Shining Star.
Henry is a transplant from Pennsylvania, coming to the rural area to enjoy his retirement from teaching, buying a farm, making his own honey and producing much of his own food.
In recent years he married librarian Amy Allen.
Unassuming and dedicated, Henry has given his time and energy to many community projects, never wanting recognition.
His most recent passion has been Calhoun County Park, devoting hundreds of volunteer hours to keep it going through critical financial times.
Now suffering with cancer, his optimistic attitude is likely being challenged.
He is a Shining Star, and we raise him to the top.
