Mary Ann Barrows, 84, of The Woods of Cedar Run, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
formerly of Grantsville, West Virginia died Saturday at Manor Care of
Carlisle,
PA.
Born in Bluefield, West Virginia, December 7, 1917, she was a daughter of
the late Jacob
and Daisy Reese Meyer. She retired as the owner-editor of the Calhoun
Chronicle of Grantsville and was a member of the Calhoun County Historical
Society and the Calhoun-Gilmer Writers Guild.
Surviving are one son, David O. Barrows of Camp Hill, PA; and one sister,
Bes
Dunning of Norfolk, VA; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Grace Barrows of
Cannonsburg, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin J. Barrows.
Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 7 at Stump Funeral
Home in
Grantsville. Reverend Robert Nicholas will officiate. Private interment will
be made at
the convenience of the family at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Grantsville. The
family
will receive visitors from 3 p.m. Sunday until the hour of services at the
funeral
home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Calhoun
County Library
in Grantsville.
