| Roger Allen King Sr. 63, of Elizabeth WV went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday May 22, 2012.
He was born in Spencer WV the son of the late Bernard and Gilda (Minney) King. He was raised by his grandparents the Late Rev. Leslie and Rennie Minney of Stumptown WV.
He graduated from Normantown High School in 1967. He worked for State Construction for several years and was a Service Tech for Jefferd Corporation, until health problems forced him to retire. He was a member of the Bear Fork Hunt Club and attended the Southern Baptist Church in Elizabeth WV.
He enjoyed going to Rendezvous with his friends, hunting, gardening, and cooking. Camping became a joy for him and Barb. They made a lot of friends at the camp grounds.
He is survived by his loving wife Barbara Parsons King; his children, Roger King Jr. (Linda and boys), Angelia King (Anthony; his faithful dog Mush, and good friends Freddie Bryant and Bob Gunnoe; 2 half brothers, Keed (Karen) Dayton of California, John King of Florida; 2 half sisters, Susie Williams and Jennifer King of Florida.
He was always considered to be one of the Parsons family by Opal Adams, Holly (Bonnie) Parsons, Sherm (Brenda) Parsons Steve (Kim) Parsons and their families. Many of his friends and relatives will morn his passing, but knows he is in a better place with no more pain and suffering.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday May 25, 2012 at Matheny Whited Funeral Home with the Rev. John Watkins officiating. Visitation will be Thursday May 24 from 2-4 and 6-8 and Friday from 9 a.m. till time of the service. Interment will follow at K of P Cemetery of Elizabeth WV.
