| Dorothea A. Connolly, 89, of Palestine, West Virginia, passed away May 9, 2012 at Eagle Pointe Nursing Home of Parkersburg WV after an extended illness.
She was born July 8, 1922 the daughter of the late Gettis G. and Hazel (Bailey) Sheppard.
She was a caretaker by heart and enjoyed taking care of others.
She is survived by her 2 brothers, Herbert (Mary) Sheppard of Parkersburg and Okey (Jackie) Sheppard of Laymen Ohio; 1 sister, Flora (Herb) Tanner of Florida; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ira Connolly Sr.; 1 sister, Evelyn Beckett; and brothers, Jack, Bill, Sam, and Wilber Sheppard.
Graveside services were held Monday May 14 at Two Runs Cemetery, with the Rev. Clyde Border officiating.
Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV was in charge of arrangements.
