Simon Tuttle, 84, formerly of Rt. 4, Parkersburg, WV, died June 25,
2002 at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was
born in Calhoun County, son of the late Lewis and Mary Fowler
Tuttle. He was a self-employed building contractor for over 40
years and was active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 20
years. He is a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in
North Africa, Sicily and Italy receiving three Purple Hearts and the
Army Infantry Combat Badge.
He is survived by two sons, Virgil L. Tuttle of Parkersburg, and Lewis E. Tuttle
of Rock Hill, SC; two daughters, Earlene Richards of Washington, and Ilene
Butcher of Freeport, WV; a half-sister, Freda Roberts of Cleveland, Ohio;
nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Roberts Tuttle in 1999 and a
sister.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral
Home, south Parkersburg with the Rev. Michael Lamb officiating. Burial will be
in the Evergreen North Cemetery with full military graveside rites by American
Legion Post 15. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday. |
