| Officials with the West Virginia Geological and Economic Survey have confirmed an earthquake in Southern West Virginia.
The officials say a magnitude 2.8 quake hit on Friday, March 16th .
No damage was reported.
It's epicenter, several miles below the surface, was about ten miles southwest of Charleston near Ashford, a mining area.
