Iris Loraine Baughman Tallhammer, 68, of Russett Road, Normantown, West Virginia, graduated to Heaven on March 22, 2012 after a long illness.
Mrs. Tallhammer was born at Webster Springs, Webster County WV a daughter of the late Adam R. Baughman and Mildred I. Cowger Baughman.
She was a nurse aide for 10 years and a registered nurse-certified school health nurse for 36 years. She served as public health nurse in Calhoun County and Gilmer County Health Departments for a total of 32 years. She was a member of Glenville Community Church and Rush Run Baptist Church. She enjoyed family, missionary work, writing poetry, singing gospel music, and art.
Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Lynn (Tallhammer) Butler and son-in-law, Douglas Butler; 3 brothers, Dennis and Patti Baughman of Wellington OH, John and Dorlan Baughman and Edward and Debra Baughman all of Webster Springs; 1 sister, Brenda and Darrell Caudill of Columbus OH; 3 brothers-in-law, James Guy Tallhammer of Coxs Creek KY, Parker and Wilma Tallhammer of Glenville WV Robert and Joan Tallhammer, Sr. of Oberlin Oh; 1 sister-in-law, Oleta Tallhammer; brother-in-law, Odell Wood; 21 nephews and 17 nieces and extended families of these listed.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Tallhammer; 1 sister, Linda Sue Baughman, 1 stepbrother, William Baughman; maternal grandparents, Clarence 'CL' and Minnie Hamrick Baughman.
Funeral services will be held 12-noon, Saturday, March24 at Stump Funeral Home at Arnoldsburg WV. Pastors Randy Wilson and Johm Vannoy will officiate.
Interment will be in the Union-Turner Cemetery at Lockney WV.
