POLICE SHOOT ROBBER - Weirton Police Chief Bruce Marshall says one of his officers shot and killed a suspected robber Tuesday.
Media outlets say the shooting occurred about 5:30 a.m. in a shopping plaza just off U.S. 22.
Marshall says it happened during the commission of a felony but didn't specify what crime was being committed.
He did say the victim is believed to have committed an armed robbery at a gas station about an hour and a half before the fatal shooting.
Marshall says the shooting will be investigated by the West Virginia State Police.
The state medical examiner is conducting an autopsy.
MORGANTOWN STABBING -
Police in Morgantown confirmed what appears to have been a stabbing from the weekend. It is officially under investigation.
The only problem is the victim was said to have been so intoxicated that police are having a hard time figuring out what happened.
The incident happened during what has been called a St. Patrick's riot on and around the WVU campus, where students and visitors set at least 30 fires.
The weekend ended with violence and several arrests.
38-year-old Jimmy Stephenson was walking along the rail trail in Morgantown when he was allegedly confronted by a man who stabbed him with a pocket knife.
Stephenson was taken to Mon General Hospital then later transferred to Ruby Memorial Hospital.
The so-called riot was filmed by a crew and has placed on YouTube.
