Betty James Burrows, 79, of Davisville, W.Va., left this world to be with her heavenly Father, our Lord, and beloved son, Milford Earl Burrows on March 15, 2012 at her residence. She was a
member of The Old Country Church and would have
been 80 years old on March 21.
She was born March 21, 1932, in Gilmer County,
W.Va., a daughter of the late Aubra and Rhoda
Whitesel James.
Betty's favorite thing to do was care for her
husband, Donald Earl "Amos" Burrows and her
daughter, Dorene Lou Burrows. She loved her
flowers and watching her birds. Betty made
beautiful quilts for her children, grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. The last one made was
for Austin Lee Allman. She enjoyed reading,
making apple butter, celebrating the Fourth of
July and Christmas. She also enjoyed playing
croquet at Bill's, Sunday afternoon cookouts,
playing Chinese Checkers with her kids and
grandkids, Dominoes, cooking and fixing food for
her great-grandson Brendon after school.
She is survived by her husband, Donald "Amos"
Burrows of 54 years; daughters, Dorene Lou
Burrows and Elizabeth Burrows Westbrook, both of
Davisville and Theresa Burrows Post and husband,
Vincent Post Jr. of Parkersburg; daughter-in-
law, Janice Burrows.

and Vincent John Post IV; brothers, Bill James,
Joe (Vicki) James, and Everett (Greta) James;
sisters, Euda James (Tom) Daniels and Sue James
Holiday. Betty had some very special friends
including Johnny Shreves, Marlene Whisman and
Wilma Ahart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her son, Milford Earl Burrows; sister,
Fern James Helmick; brother, Mike James; and her
parents-in-law, Mary Givens and Walter Burrows.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on
Monday, March 19, 2012, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral
Home, Green St., Parkersburg with Pastor Nathan
Copen officiating. Interment will follow at
Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Grantsville, W.Va.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, March
18 and from 11 a.m. until time of service on
Monday at the funeral home.
