WINTER REMAINS WARM AS SPRING APPROACHES

The National Weather Service says the winter months in this region were the warmest in 15 years.

But most notable has been the lack of snowfall, at least so far.

The average temperature for December, January and February was about 40 degrees, four degrees degrees warmer than normal and nearly 7 degrees warmer than a year ago.

The last time it was this warm was in 1996-97, with the warmest winter on record about 46.2 degrees in 1931-32.
