Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center

Brittany Powell (above) of Gilmer High School attends the Business program at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. She is currently a work base student at two different placements. She is at both the Calhoun Chronicle and State Farm Insurance in Grantsville. Brittany has been given many different responsibilities at both locations, and has been complimented numerous times on her work production and stamina. Brittany was honored as the January Work Base Student of the Month.
Tyler Thurmer (above) of Calhoun High School has completed the Automotive Technology program at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center, and is finishing up the Business program as well. Tyler is currently a work base student at Smith's Auto Parts. He is enjoying this placement very much. He began working here after completing a work base placement at Calhoun Auto Care, where he learned about both automotive mechanics, as well as the business end of running and maintaining a shop.
John Poulin (above) of Gilmer High School is an Automotive Technology Student at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. He has been placed at NAPA Auto Parts in Grantsville, where he is learning about different vehicle parts as well as practicing customer service skills.
Danielle Larson (no photo available) of Calhoun High School is a Pro Start: Culinary Arts student at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. This senior is work at the Pitt Stop, learning the tricks of the trade to working in the food service industry. She is a very hardworking you lady, that is excited to learn and get to work.

John Bixman and Ralph Calhoun (above) are students in the Networking Technology lab at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. These students are working with Minnie Hamilton's IT Department in Grantsville. They have an alternating schedule, working on computers in this department. They both say they are learning a lot at this placement.
Brian Collins (above) of Gilmer County High School is enrolled in the Welding Technology program at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. This hard-working student is completing a work base placement at Down Hole Pump Sales and Service.

Bree Wolfe and Erica Nicolson (above) of Gilmer County High School are enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. They are currently working at Glennville State College in the Campus Security Department. They both say that this has been a good learning experience for them.
Desiree Miller (above) of Gilmer County High School is finishing up her second year in the Criminal Justice program at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. She is currently attending a work base placement with DHHR in Grantsville, and is enjoying the experience very much.
Thomas Smith (above) of Calhoun County High School is in the Building Construction program at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center. He is benefiting greatly from his work base experience at Hardman's Supply in Grantsville. He is enhancing not only his knowledge in building construction, but his customer service skills as well.
