Thirty-seven West Virginia county commissions will receive grants totaling more than $390,000 for records management and preservation.
The funds through the Records Management and Preservation Board will help with records management and preservation projects across the state.
Calhoun Country received an earlier grant.
- Braxton County Commission-$12,841 to purchase open steel shelving and cubic foot boxes to enhance access to case files in the circuit clerk's office, and to rebind, digitize and microfilm the assessor's copies of the land books in the county clerk's office.
- Clay County Commission-$9,995 to purchase an oversize color map scanner that will enhance access to survey maps for the county clerk's office.
- Roane County Commission-$614 to encapsulate and rebind original linen farm maps in the county clerk's office.
