The Victory Baptist Church is having an old-fashioned tent revival at the
former Calhoun High School location in Grantsville, with special singing and
preaching every night through Friday.
The revival follows on the heals of special recognition given students of the
Grantsville Bible College.

The 2nd annual graduation commencement for Grantsville Bible Institute was
held at Victory Baptist church on June 10, 2002. Forty one students
participated in the program this year receiving various certificates of
completion.
Those who received a Two Year Certificate of Bible Study were Doyle
Ballengee, Nathaniel Bartlett, Ken Beard, Sue Beard, Dallas Clay, Sheila
Heiney, Sherri Greenlief, Shari Johnson, Tom Justice, Joseph Lancaster, Tom
Law, C.W. McDonald, Jeanetta Richards, Harry Siers, Shanna Urban, John
VanHyning, Larry Wade, and John Whitman.
Those who received a One Year Certificate of Bible Study, Keith "Duke"
Bowman, Patty Eisley, Eva Gay, Ivan Richmond, and Walter Truss.
Receiving Auditing certificates were, Rosemary McDonald, Katheryn
Baker, Robert and Shirley Bausman, Zane Gherke, Ed Bartlett and John Myer.
Certificates for the Study of the Gospel of John were received by, Manny
Ayson, Danilo Caba, Rusty Espinoza, Marck Bitun and Israel Flores.
Special awards were given to 81 year old Walter Truss and 80 year old Doyle
Ballengee for the "Oldest Students". "Traveling the Farthest" award was
given to John VanHyning, John Whitman and Ivan Richmond having traveled over
200 miles each week to attend GBI. Two "Most Improved" student awards were
given to Patty Eisley and Philip Greenlief. Miss Shanna Urban received a
full scholarship to attend Marietta Bible College in Marietta, Ohio.
Grantsville Bible Institute has been established for the purpose of training
men and women to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with confidence in their
chosen field. The different levels of certificates are a reflection of the
variety of people involved in this program. Each Certificate of Bible Study,
One and two Year, are equal to college credit hours. The Auditing
Certificates were awarded to those who chose to attend for the purpose of
furthering their knowledge of the gospel, but not receiving college hours.
Grantsville Bible Institute will Begin the fall semester as Grantsville
Bible College having received approval by the State of West Virginia to
operate as such. Courses being offered this fall are: The Book of Acts, Dr.
Myron Guiler, Instructor; The Minor Prophets, Dr. Jim Newton, Instructor;
American History, Dr. Denny Hankins, Instructor; Theology, Dr. Mike Worf,
Instructor; and Advanced Homiletics with Dr. John Powell.
Classes will continue to run each Monday Night from 6-9 p.m. During that
time there will be, two class periods, a short break and chapel time. The new
semester begins September 9, cost for attending is $50. For
