| Harold R. Lockhart 80, of Palestine, West Virginia, passed away Monday, February 27, 2012 at Camden Clark Memorial Campus.
He was the son of the late Ivan and Ica (Lott) Lockhart.
He was a 1949 graduate of Wirt County High School, served in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from Johns Manville after several years of service.
He enjoyed spending time with people and made his rounds at local business on a daily bases, he helped many business and local charities. He was always willing to give a hand whenever it was needed.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Janice (Kidder) Lockhart; 4 children, Steve (Juanita) Lockhart of Elizabeth WV, Debra (Lewis) Ruble of Palestine WV, Michael (Susan) Lockhart of Elizabeth, and
Robert (Darlene) Lockhart of Palestine; 6 grandchildren, Amy Lockney, Brad Lockhart, Crystal (Timmy) Myers all of Palestine,
Amber (Josh) Jones of Parkersburg WV, Jason Lockhart of Elizabeth, and
Erica Lockhart of Davisville WV; 4 great grandchildren, Katy and Zack Lockney, Gerad Lockhart and Parker Myers; 1 sister-in-law, Pauline Lockhart of Palestine.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Patricia Lockhart; 1 brother, Melvin Lockhart; and 1 nephew, Randy Lockhart.
Services will be Thursday March 1 at 1:00 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV with Rev. Lee Williams and Rev. Delmas Stutler officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday February 29 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Interment will be at Shiloh Cemetery of Palestine WV.
