State Police have charged Stephen McDonald, 37, of Harrisville with four counts of display of obscene material to a minor and two counts of soliciting a minor by computer.
McDonald allegedly chatted online with a girl he believed to be 13 during an undercover chat sting operation in August 2011.
Police say he sent three photos and participated in a webcam chat.
The charges have been brought by Crimes Against Children Unit in Charleston.
McDonald is in the North Central Regional Jail on $50,000 bond.
