Ellen "Bernice" Junkins age 60 of Burnt House Road, Ritchie County, West Virginia, departed this life at 8:06 a.m., Thursday, February 9, 2012 in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, WV following an extended illness.
She was born December 4, 1951 in Baltimore, MD, a daughter of the late Glen and Oleta Pringle Post.
Bernice worked several years at Kinney Shoe Factory. She then worked in the Gilmer County Clerk's Office as bookkeeper retiring with 16 years of service. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church at Harrisville. She loved auctions, reading and watching her grandson play ball.
On January 31, 1980 she was united in marriage to Raymond "Bim" Junkins Jr. who survives at their Burnt House Run Road home.
One daughter and one son survive, Sondra Branson and husband Michael of Fairmont WV and Michael Junkins and fiancé Dust Balch of Burnt House; 2 stepdaughters, Patricia Stallard and Renae White both of Coeburn VA; 1 grandson, Hayden Branson of FL; 5 step grandchildren, Sara Stallard, Summer Stallard, Alisha White, Alley White and Amanda Junkins all of Coeburn; one great granddaughter Elizabeth Brooke Burnett of Coeburn; one brother, Forest Lynn Post of Harve de Grace MD. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends also survive.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carl Post of Baltimore MD and Delbert Post of Harve de Grace MD; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 13 with Pastor Mike Sprouse officiating. Burial will follow in the Copen Cemetery, Copen, WV. Friends may call 5-8 p.m., Sunday, at the Mortuary.
