Anna Lee Jones, 89, of Cox's Mill, West Virginia, passed away February 7, 2012 in Columbus, North Carolina.
She was born July 30, 1922 at Tanner, Gilmer County WV a daughter of the late Asa B. Vannoy and Leafy Wilson Vannoy. She was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and was a former Gilmer County elementary school teacher. She was a founder of the first 4-H Club in Gilmer County.
Surviving are her children, Kevin (Linda) Jones of Cox's Mill, Lisa (Jerry) Kogar of Columbus NC, and Belita (Steve) Mullinax of Grand Junction CO; grandchildren, Jessica Frymier, Matthew Jones, Saxon Kogar, Silas Kogar, and Malachi Mullinax; great grandchildren Autumn Frymier, Alley Frymier, Tessa Simmons and Macey Jones.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eldred Lee Jones; one brother, Jack Vannoy and 2 sisters, Sue McCartney and Mary Jones.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville WV with Rev. Ron Chesser officiating. Interment will be in the New Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-noon until the time of services.
