Parkersburg, WV - The Sisters of St. Joseph Charitable Fund is hosting a Healthy Lifestyles Workshop Focusing on Preventing Childhood Obesity on February 29, 2012.
This day-long workshop will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 1341 Juliana Street, Parkersburg, WV, from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Speakers representing the Mid-Ohio Valley will highlight samples of existing programs addressing the issue of engaging children in healthy lifestyles.
National speakers from the Campaign for Healthy Kids, Faith United to End Childhood Obesity, and the Health Ministries Association will discuss ways to advance mutual goals toward modeling healthy options and supporting improvements in policy. The workshop will include a specific focus on how to further engage the faith community in incorporating activity and good nutrition in church programs and facilities.
