| Sylvia G. Wine, 75, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, died at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2012, at the home of her son, Tony, after an extended illness.
She was born April 17, 1936 at Sissonville WV a daughter of the late Arthur G. and Melissa O. Godbey Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Brewer, Sharon Collins and Ruby Collins; three brothers, Junior, Clifford and Braden Collins.
Mrs. Wine was a retired LPN. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, knitting and quilting.
Survivors include four children, David McGuire of Charleston WV, Patricia Taylor of Newton WV, Robert McGuire of Marlinton WV and Tony Wine of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, one great grandchild and six step grandchildren; four sisters, Ruth Burdette of Sissonville, Betty Smith of Newton, Reba Streber of Beach City OH and Anna Boggess of LeRoy WV; eight brothers, Roy Collins of Hillsboro OH, James, Leonard and Mike Collins all of Newton, Gerald Collins of Clay WV, General and Rondal Collins both of Spencer WV, Roger Collins of LeRoy.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Dave Cumpston officiating. Burial will be in the King Cemetery, Newton.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
