Kenneth R. "Buddy" Stalnaker 72, of Mt. Tom Road Marietta, OH, passed away at his resident Saturday evening, January 21, 2012, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Orma, Calhoun County, WV, on July 6, 1939, the son of the late Fenton Kenneth and Ruth Kunklar Stalnaker.
He attended Calhoun County Schools and worked for Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) for 30 years as assistant Superintendent, retiring March 31, 1997.
Kenneth and his wife, Eloise traveled extensively by train, plane, camper, and auto throughout 47 of the 48 continental states and he enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 17 years, Ella Louise (Eloise) Quick Stalnaker; three sons Calvin Stalnaker (Lisa), Kevin Stalnaker (Barbara), both of Marietta, Jeff Stalnaker (Tracy) of Grove City, OH, and daughter Joyce Thompson (Jay), of Marietta, step-son Robert Sturm (Monica) of Parkersburg, WV, and step-daughter Debbie Davis (Garry) of Newport, OH. There are ten grandchildren; Ryan and Tanner Thompson, Amanda Carpenter, Erica Walters, Coty, Brooke, Blake, and Nathan Stalnaker, Holly Neader and Amber McIntosh. There are 14 great grandchildren and one sister Helen Jewell of Tuson, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Jerry Wright, infant grandson Calvin Stalnaker Jr. and one granddaughter Riley Marie Stalnaker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday January 28, 2012, at Hadley Funeral Home Reno Chapel, where friends may call on Friday, January 27, 2012, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Entombment will follow in East Lawn Mausoleum.
