| Chester Ray Parsons age 61 of Tanner Creek Rd. Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life at 6:30 a.m., Sunday January 22, 2012 at Arnoldsburg following an extended illness.
He was born July 10, 1950 in Gilmer County, son of the late Delbert and Geneva Harris Parsons.
Chester enjoyed tending to his farm animals, horses and chickens, and as a youth attended the Chestnut Lick Baptist Church.
Surviving are 12 siblings, Lenora "Sis" Miller of Glenville, Jack Parsons and wife Geraldine of Lockney WV, Hallie Minney and husband Kesley of Sand Fork WV, Cora Kimes of New Haven WV, Wanda Accord of Beckley WV, Patricia Knisley of Spencer WV, Madeline Duskey of Tanner WV, Greta Peters and husband Paul of Glenville WV, Jessie Parsons of McFarlan WV, Gena "Kay" Peters and husband John of Glenville, Steve Parsons and wife Regina of Glenville, and Bobby Parsons of Lockney. Chester is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 sister, Pearl Parsons, and 1 brother Eddie Parsons.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., Glenville WV, 11:00 a.m., Thursday January 26 with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Community Cemetery at Stumptown.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mortuary.
