US SUPREME COURT BLOCKS RULING OVER REDISTRICTING

(01/21/2012)
The state's battle over redistricting continues, as the US Supreme Court has now ruled that the Mountain State can run its congressional races with the redistricting map recently struck down by a panel of federal judges.

Chief Justice John Roberts agreed to stay the previous ruling contesting the legislature's redistricting plan.

State officials had cited a tight election timetable asking for the stay pending appeal with the state's three seats in the House of Representatives on the ballot this year. The primary is May 8th.
