The Calhoun County Republican Executive Committee will meet Thursday (Jan. 19) at 7 p.m. In the small courtroom of the Calhoun County Court House.
The purpose of the meeting is to plan for the 2012 primary and general
election. Gaylen Duskey, chairman of the GOP Executive Committee, said the party is also looking for office seekers as well as committeemen and election
planners.
Duskey said there are several well paying jobs available in this election cycle, they including - County Commission, Sheriff,
Prosecuting Attorney, Assessor, Two Magistrate Openings, House of Delegates and State Senate.
The last day for filing for office is Jan. 28, 2012, and Duskey said GOP
candidates are needed to allow Calhoun to once again be a county with a
viable two-party system.
