Low-income West Virginia residents can now apply for help heating their homes later in January.
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources has announced that applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program will be accepted Jan. 17 through Jan. 27.
The program will allow households to obtain help with home heating before winter weather increases demand and shortens supply of some heating fuels.
Eligibility for benefits is based on income, household size and whether or not the household is responsible for paying its heating bill.
Applications may be obtained at DHHR offices, community action agencies, or senior centers operated by any Area Agency on Aging. Applicants can also apply online at www.wvinroads.org.
