It was almost a New Years baby last Friday, with an unexpected at home delivery.
Family members said it was a pretty normal day on Russett Road when Brandon Pauley was awakened by screams from his wife, Chrissie Greathouse Pauley.
She was in labor two months early.
Brandon quickly called 911 for an ambulance, and his father Kevin rushed to meet the ambulance and EMTs, anxious by the time he heard the siren echoing in the hollows.
It was just a little late, with Brandon delivering his second daughter, a breech birth at that, in the bedroom.
His daughter and wife were life-flighted to Women's and Children's Hospital in Charleston and are doing fine.
