| Robert Adams 77, of Elizabeth, West Virginia, passed away December 15, 2011 at Camden Clark Memorial Campus.
He was the son of the late Vashtia Marie Adams.
He was a lifetime resident of Wirt County, a member of Local 132 Operating Engineers of Huntington WV. He worked for Curry Lumber Company of Elizabeth for several years and retired from State Construction as a heavy equipment operator.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, timbering, farming, gardening and hunting and loved going to Rinks, of Marietta, to see all his friends, often going twice a day.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Opal (Parsons) Adams; his children, Ada (Bunny) and John Ross, Bill (Lisa) Adams, Johnny Adams (Kate Pursley) all of Elizabeth, Brenda (Jeff) Jeffers of Palestine WV, David (Amy) Adams of Newark WV;
grandchildren, Robert (Holly) Ross, Christopher (Jessica) Ross,
Ashley Adams all of Elizabeth, Joey Jeffers, Jeffery Jeffers and
Noah Pursley all of Palestine, Zachary Adams, Dustin Adams and Emily Adams all of Newark, and Jason Jeffers of Canton Ohio; great grandchildren, Katlyn Ross, Cierra Ruch, Zackary Rush, Chase Ross and Wyatt Ross; 3 best buds, Robert (Jo Ann) Williams, Walt (Ruby) Williams of Huntington WV and Steve (Kay) Mattison also of Huntington.
In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by 1 infant sister and his grandparents Vanis and Ida Adams.
Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV with Rev. Robert Watkins and Rev. Delmas Stutler officiating. Interment will be at Pine Twist Cemetery of Elizabeth.
Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 19 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
