Betty E. Stump age 84 of Galena Ohio, formerly of Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life Thursday morning December 15, 2011 in the Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Memorial Hospital, Westerville Ohio, following a brief illness.
Born May 16, 1927 in Gilmer County West Virginia, daughter of the late Fred and Fannie Cunningham Dobbins.
Betty was a Baptist by faith, homemaker and mother, she loved to sew, quilt, and gardening.
On April 3, 1947, she was united in marriage to Blain Stump who preceded her in death on January 20, 1992.
Surviving are 3 sons and 3 daughters; Blain Stump and wife Janelle of Danebrog Nebraska, Glenn Stump and wife Teresa of Burns Flat Oklahoma, Jeff Stump and wife Delores of Galena Ohio, Connie Shreve of Columbus Ohio, Janice Whiting of Galena Ohio, and Twilene Dahlin and husband Homer of Sandusky Ohio; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; 1 brother and 1 sister, Buck Dobbins and Pauline Sherwood both of Parkersburg West Virginia.
Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Stump was preceded in death by 1 son, Wayne Stump; 2 daughters, Betty Ann McHenry and Teresa Wilson; 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; 2 brothers, Jack and Charles Dobbins; and 1 sister, Monoka Dobbins.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., Glenville West Virginia, at 2:00 p.m. Sunday December 18 with Pastor Homer Dahlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
