Charles R. Carpenter, 79, of Orma, WV, died Friday, June 7 at Minnie Hamilton Health Care
Center, Grantsville.
Born in Roane County he was a son of the late James and Hattie Starcher Carpenter. He was a
U.S. Army Veteran of WW II and was retired from the Coppers Company.
Surviving are four sons, James Carpenter of Orma, Rick, David and Jack Carpenter all of
Arnoldsburg, WV; two daughters, Gail Butler of Orma and Ruth Wears of Mineral City, Ohio;
one brother, Ed Carpenter of Parkersburg, WV; one sister, Ora Emerick of South Carolina;
twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby L. Carpenter, two sons, Larry Wayne and Charles
Carpenter and a daughter, Alice Carpenter.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg.
Reverend D.L. Kirby will officiate. Interment will be in the Liberty Hill Cemetery at Arnoldsburg.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
