L. Marie Cole, 84, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Roane General Hospital, following an extended illness.
She was born August 7, 1927, at Newton, West Virginia, the first child of the late Carl and Frances "Fanny" Haynes.
Marie was a Christian and attended Faith Baptist Church. She had worked as a bookkeeper for Ravenna Tire, and as a receptionist for the Hattie Larlham Foundation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Carl Haynes, and Robert Lee Haynes; and a sister, Estelle Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Cole, of Spencer; daughters, Mary Jane Page, of Streetsboro OH, Sharon Kay Nussbaum of Colorado Springs CO, and Shirley June Porter of Tuscaloosa AL.
She is also survived by her sisters, Flora Belcher, of Pinch WV, Mabel West, Freda King, and Patty Walker; and a brother, Benjamin Charles Haynes all of Spencer. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 10, at 2 p.m. at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Pastor Wayne McGlothlin and Bro. Bill Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
