Cairo, W.Va. - The third annual "Little Princess Ball" January 7 at North Bend State Park is an evening for dads and daughters.
"Little girls ages 5-12 and their fathers do have a ball at this event," according to Kristi Steed, event coordinator at North Bend. "Having a special dinner with dad, going to a dance and dressing up is all part of the fun. We've had a lot of very nice compliments about this event the past two years."
The January 7 evening begins at 4:30 or 5:30 with dinner seatings. A craft and game room opens from 5 until 7 p.m.
Photos are taken at a staged area prior to the dance which begins at 7 p.m. and lasts two hours. The "ballroom" is decorated for princesses. During the dance there is an ice cream sundae bar. The dance DJ is Jack Horton from V96.9 in Parkersburg, playing requests and music favorites.
The event package includes accommodations at North Bend Lodge, dinner, dance, arts and crafts, and a souvenir photo. The cost for a princess and her dad is $110. An additional daughter is $30 each and an additional adult is $40. The price includes taxes and gratuities. Advance reservations are required.
