The Wirt County Commission has been ordered to pay legal fees incurred by Wirt Assessor Debbie Hennen.
After months of being investigated by the WV State Police, Assessor Debbie Hennen was found not guilty of charges that she falsely filled out a time sheet for a contract employee.
The charges surfaced in 2009 based on statements issued by employees in Hennen's office.
The fees reportedly totaled about $25,000, but the WV Insurance Risk Pool say the county must pay $20,000.
Judge Robert Waters determined Hennen's conduct might have been wrong, but he declared it was not criminal.
