| Bertha L. Adams Byrd age 88 of Crane Run Rd. Troy, West Virginia, departed this life at 1:02 p.m., Saturday November 26, 2011 in the Crestview Manor Nursing Home, Jane Lew WV., following a month long illness.
Born March 30, 1923 on Crane Run, Gilmer County, daughter of the late Charles S. and Ada Brannon Adams.
Bertha was a homemaker and caregiver to her parents until their deaths. She was a member of the Troy United Methodist Church, she wrote a book titled "Fond Memories Remain" published in 2008 and also received her LPN license in 1950 by mail.
On September 1, 1974 she was united in marriage to Arden F. Byrd who preceded her in death on May 21, 2008.
She is survived by 1 sister, Madeline Adams of Weston.
Along with her husband and parents, Bertha was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harold and Woodrow Adams; 3 sisters, Carrie Adams Powell, Ida Belle Adams Ware, and Mary Adams Burton.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. Glenville at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday November 30, 2011 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Troy I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Troy WV. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
