Engine show drawing record attendance
The "By the Lake Antique Equipment Show" held in Harrisville draws a large number of visitors, the event is free to the public.
This summers show is this weekend, July 12-13.
The venue, held twice yearly, is becoming the largest in West Virginia, drawing exhibitors and visitors from several states.
From antique tractors and cars to hundreds of old gasoline engines and rigs, it is quite an attraction.
On display will be hit and miss engines that date back to the late 1800's. These engines were used to do many things from powering washing machines, grind corn, pump water and run cream separators.
There will also be larger engines on display that was used in the oil and gas industry. Some of those engines that will be on display were used here in Ritchie County.
There will be antique tractors including John Deere, Farmall, Ferguson, Massey Harris, Oliver, Ford, and Allis Chalmers. Antique and class cars will be on display. There are no entry fees or judging for the cars. There will be "An Anything on Wheels" parade Saturday at 1:00 PM.
