The Calhoun High School Varsity volleyball team picked up two wins on senior night Oct. 18. Calhoun defeated Williamstown
18-25, 25-21, 25-22 and Parkersburg Catholic 20-25, 25-18, 25-22.
Jordan Mace led the team in service points against Williamstown with 8 points, 1 ace; she was followed by Kenzie Laughlin 8 points; Amber Wilford 7 points, 2 aces; Chelsea Hicks 6 points, Rochelle Gerwig 3 points, Sam Church 2 points. Calhoun played in the LKC Final Four at Roane on Saturday Oct 22. Calhoun was defeated by Tyler Consolidated 25-22, 25-20, 25-13. Calhoun completes their regular season at Doddridge County with a varsity quad on Thursday, Oct. 27.
Sectional play begins on Tuesday, November 1 at Doddridge County High School at 6:00 p.m. Sectional seeding had not be announced at press time but it is a double elimination tournament. The seven teams in the section are Calhoun, Gilmer, Doddridge, South Harrison, Clarksburg Notre Dame, Trinity, and Clay Batelle.
