Welcome back to Beason. If you are traveling this direction, stop by. The leaves are spectacular this time of year.

First of all, I would like to thank the Department of Highways for their efforts in blacktopping our road. We are all so excited about it. It was like Christmas! Of course, I am always thrilled to see inmates doing more than sucking up my tax dollars. So, thanks for making me all kinds of happy!

Ritchie County Band has accomplished some big things this season. They have received the highest score in the history of the band, took the band to Chapter 13 Championships and are headed to the Atlantic Coast Championships in Hershey, Pennsylvania on October 29th. These kids have worked so hard this year and deserve this opportunity. However, with this opportunity come major expenses. Please show your REBEL BAND love and support by stopping by Ellenboro McDonald's on Saturday morning, October 29th. Pocket change can go a long way if we all work together.

I think if the county can parachute a game ball to open football season, it should be able to help the band out as well. Thank you in advance for your help.

Calhoun County High School Class of 1986 had some great reunion events on October 7th and 8th. Those whom attended all or part of the events included: Siobhan Tunstead, David Dye, John Nicholas, Brian Hipp, Michele Hipp, Todd and Laura Erlewine (& girls), Gary Ferrell, Chuck Hicks, Gina Hicks, Paul King, Scott Jarvis, Debbie Jarvis, Lynn Tanner, Paul King, Elvin Hixon and myself. We loved seeing all of you and hope to get something together in the summer of 2012. If you are a member of the class of 1986 and were unable to attend the October events, please get in touch with me. I want to make sure you can make it to the next one.

We would like to congratulate the RCHS football team, RCHS cheerleaders and the RCHS band for an exciting season! You represent Ritchie County very well and we are so proud of you.

Main Street Hair Studio & Rebel Nails are thrilled to welcome back Chrystal Stewart to our salon. She has been a breath of fresh air since the day she stepped in the door. Welcome back Chrystal. We missed you.

If you haven't been to the WV State Pen for the Dungeon of Horrors yet, it is a must-do. It's a whole lot of fun and worth $20. I took Ethan and Nicholas with me for moral support. I would highly suggest you take some moral support with you also. We did the Weston Asylum last year, so we decided to go hard core this year at the prison.

Remember Creed Collins Elementary School has their Halloween parties on Friday, October 28th. Information will be sent home so be on the lookout for it. I don't often get things from Avery until after the event already happened. So, just watch your child's back packs.

Happy birthday goes out to my mom, Edna Robinson, of Calhoun County, Birthday wishes also go out to my nephew, Alex Monterosso, of Parkersburg, my brother Kevin and my nephew Jack of Mocksville, NC.

As always, remember to be safe and responsible when doing any celebrating.
