Ten different musical groups took the stage Tuesday night
during Glenville State College's Music Fest held at the
Fine Arts Center.
Two GSC students, Courtney Clevenger and Jessica
Patterson performed in seven of the featured choirs,
ensembles and bands.
The event is designed to showcase the broad range
of talent at the school and draws a large audience.
Members of the Percussion Ensemble perform
during GSC's Music Fest Tuesday night.
Perennial favorites at any such multifaceted concert
are the Percussion Ensemble and Bluegrass Band.
John McKinney, director of the Percussion Ensemble,
again wowed the crowd with arrangements of 1970s rock
hits from the Doobie Brothers and Edgar Winters.
Harry Rich (left) directs the Trumpet Ensemble during a Mozart selection.
David Lewis arranged and directed the Jazz Band
through an impressive rendition of "Make Me Smile," and
Color My World," also 1970s chart-toppers by Chicago.
In addition to the aforementioned groups The Pioneer
Marching Band Drumline, Chamber Singers, Concert
Choir, Trumpet Ensemble, Woodwind Ensemble, Brass
Ensemble, and Pioneer Marching Band.
The Glenville State College Bluegrass Band will be
in concert next Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Fine Arts
Center. The program is dedicated to the legendary
Bill Monroe.
Tickets are available by calling 304-462-6340. Admission
