Carl Collins, an instructer at Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center, is expressing gratitude to responders who helped with his 18-year-old daughter Katie, who was injured in a car accident on Rt. 5 near Glenville last Sunday.
Collins said, "I would like to personally thank all of those who had a part in her rescue. She was trapped in her car and had to be extracted." The car was totaled.
"Special thanks to the pastor that found her and prayed with her. The Gilmer County Fire Department, the Calhoun EMS crew and Bill Ellis and his driver who transported her to Ruby Memorial," Collins said.
His daughter has been discharged, but "has many weeks of recovery ahead of her."
"God spared Katie, who means the world to us," Collins concluded.
