WESTON TODDLER'S CASE TURNED TO 'CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION' - Family Members Have Criminal Past

(10/05/2011)
This week the FBI turned the mysterious case of disappearance of three-year-old Aliayah Lunsford of Weston into a criminal case.

The FBI said it could be a murder, an abduction or a concealment.

A spokesperson for the FBI declined to release a name or number of suspects, but the agency did indicate such exists.

Aliayah's mother, Lena Lunsford, and stepfather, Ralph Lunsford, have a list of criminal charges in Gilmer, Lewis and Braxton counties.

Lena Lunsford faced mainly worthless check, forgery and uttering charges over the years. She's also been charged with breaking and entering among other things.

Ralph Lunsford was charged with multiple counts of domestic battery and assault. He spent time in the Moundsville Prison for burglary and conspiracy.

"I really cannot comment about anybody that we're speaking with. I don't want to give a number about how many people we've talked to. We really can't do that right now. Everybody that we've been able to talk to has been willing to talk to us," says FBI Special Agent Jeff Killeen.
