The annual Octoberfest celebration IS TODAY the Upper West Park, at Chloe, beginning at 10 a.m.
There is no parade scheduled for this year's event, but there will be plenty of fun and good food throughout the day.
Apple butter stirring for the adults beginning at 7 a.m. A Best Cooks contest and Best Fall Dessert contest beginning at 10 a.m., judging at 11:30 a.m.
Games and a bounce house will be available for the kids from noon-5 p.m. and a bike rodeo starts at 1 p.m.
Calhoun EMS will be doing blood pressure checks throughout the day.
Music jamming is planned all day and the Sharp Shooters Band will perform at 7 p.m.
A slow roasted pork BBQ dinner will be available for $7 with drinks and dessert extra. Beans and cornbread, chili and the regular Park menu will be available for sale.
