Frederick Lewis "Freddie" Simpson, 18, of Mt. Airy, MD and Glenville departed this life at 9:04 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2011, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown following an unexpected illness.
He was born January 29, 1993 in Rockville, MD the son of James S. and Anita Toth Simpson of Mt. Airy, MD.
Freddie was a high school graduate of Excelsior Academy; had earned a black belt in Hap Ki Do; held his Eagle Scout ceremony this past July and was currently attending Glenville State College.
He loved everything about scouting which played a big part in his life; he enjoyed camping, playing video-games and visiting museums where he could spend hours reading the information.
Besides his parents he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Charlotte G. Toth Thompson of Glenville, WV and paternal grandmother, Arna Simpson of Derwood, MD. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Frank L. Toth; maternal step-grandfather, Russell B. Thompson and paternal grandfather Frederick C. Simpson.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2011 with Rev. Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery, Glenville. Friends may call 4-8 p.m., Thursday at the Mortuary.
