State Police in Calhoun County are arresting a Big Springs man on charges related to operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab.
Adam Andrew Jones, 23, according to the complaint, was charged after authorities said Jones purchased over 9 grams of pseudoephedrine, ingredients used in the manufacturing of meth.
The Board of Pharmacy, according to the State Police, said Jones "purchased 20 boxes of pseudoephedrine to date this year...a precursor used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Between 2/11/11 and 2/28/11 the accused purchased approximately 9.6 grams...going over the legal amounts to purchase within a 30 day period."
The ingredients were purchased in Parkersburg and at Rite-Aid in Grantsville.
The complaint said Trooper J. E. Kincaid stopped Jones on an unrelated traffic stop, the officer found a marijuana pipe, after which Jones admitted to the officer he grew marijuana, but refused to tell him where.
The officer, according to the criminal complaint, arrested Jones on an obstruction charge after he refused to sign a fingerprint document.
Adam and Shelia Jones are filing a formal complaint against the WV State Police after State Police obtained a search warrant for their house and buildings (9332 N. Calhoun Highway), not the residence where their son Adam Andrew Jones resided.
Jones' say State Police had obtained his physical E-911/mailing address earlier (9268 N. Calhoun Highway), but searched their property instead. They are claiming the property search was illegal and unfounded.
The search found no illegal material. |
