Welcome back to Beason. Our road is in a little better shape than it was in my previous article. Our deepest thanks to those who came out and spent a little time on it. Hopefully, we will be able to get some more maintenance before winter arrives. Snow and ice on the way the road is now, will make a rough drive even rougher. But, we can enjoy the fall foliage and the wildlife until then I guess.

9/11. Do you remember where you were? Do you remember what you felt? I remember exactly where I was that day. I was 2 months pregnant, sick as a dog, and in the Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center waiting room. I was flipping through a magazine and watching TV. When I looked up, there it was. THE NEWS. The news that would change life in America forever. We need to remember all those that were involved that day and how they helped put our lives back together. Bless those that are still struggling with putting their lives back together. Bless those who served and who continue to protect us from danger. We need to remember how they give themselves unselfishly to save us rather than themselves. Thank you for everything you do.

It has been the summer of love here on the Taylor farm. It seems the animals are outnumbering the humans now. I don't really like those odds. However, most are still smaller than me, so I will be safe for awhile, However, I think that someone should be mentioning family planning to our furry friends. I have what seems to be thousands of piglets that will be available as soon as Brian turns his back, Ha, Ha. I'm kidding! They will seriously be for sale soon.

Ritchie County Rebels, Rebel Band, and Rebel Cheerleaders are having a great season so far! I am so excited for them. They've deserved this glory for a long time comin'. They've come a long way and need to be congratulated for their efforts. We need to come together and continue supporting them. They need us as much as we need them! This is a time in the kids' lives that they will carry with them forever, make it worth remembering! The kids need to see us, community members, parents, teachers, etc. as role models. We've had "our time" we need to make sure they have theirs on and off the field.

I really enjoyed being over on Calhoun turf on Friday night. It is where I come from, and I am continually proud to say so. But, Ritchie is where my own family, my community family, my band family and all the other 'families' I belong to began so my heart lies here.

Although my heart remains in Ritchie, I do know the hottest ticket in Calhoun County. Her name is Ms. Lisa Hickman-Walker and she teaches Zumba on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 6:30. Her Zumba Zone is located one mile out of Grantsville on Route 5 towards Glenville. Her new venue is located in the brick building on the right. Right now, you can save money by purchasing a $35 punch card for 10 classes or you can pay $5 per individual class. Lisa is a bouncy and happy person and makes for an exciting Zumba instructor. No matter where you go, Lisa insists you stay hydrated and bring a towel to soak up the sunshine you will be sweating off. Please feel free to contact me or Lisa at 354-0412 or 991-7327. I know you are asking why is she mentioning Calhoun stuff in news about Ritchie County? What does that have to do with us? It has everything to do with us! We represent Ritchie County EVERYWHERE we go. We either make us or break us. This class is an opportunity for us to get healthy as well as spread the Ritchie Love. So, think it over and let me know if you want to be a part of the Ritchie County representation. I plan to be showing some of my Ritchie Love soon.

I am really looking forward to our trip to Braxton on Friday night. It is another chance for us to show the world just who we are and why we are more than just a dot on the map. We support each other and are able to overcome things that might try to stand in our way. WE ARE RITCHIE COUNTY!
