| Herbert Leroy Jones, 62, of Macfarlan, West Virginia, went to be with the lord Saturday, September 3, 2011 on his way home from dialysis, following a long battle with kidney disease and diabetes.
He was born October 9, 1948 in Wood County, a son of the late Harley Byrd Jones and Mae Olive Finch Jones.
Herb was a sawmill worker, worked some in the oil field and in the hay fields. He loved to hunt, fish, play his banjo and sing, go ginsenging, watch mud bogs, ride 4-wheelers and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his ex-wife, to whom he was married for 32 years, Bertha Jane Jones of Brohard WV; 2 daughters, Emma Richards of Grantsville (son-in-law, Gary Richards of Big Bend) and Dreama Reed (Terry Reed) of Brohard and 3 beautiful granddaughters, Danielle and Ashley Richards and Abby Reed.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Geraldine (Deanie) Jones Murphy and several aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Hoy Chapel on Leading Creek Rd., Wednesday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. Jim McIntyre will officiate.
Interment will be in Goodnight Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from noon until the time of service.
