| Mary Ellen Hupp Davis, 87, of West Virginia Masonic Home of Parkersburg, formerly of Elizabeth WV, passed away August 19, 2011 at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 17, 1924 in Wirt County WV, a daughter of the late Oscar and Ora B. Bousman Hupp.
She was a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #6508. She was a former employee of the Wirt County Bank.
Surviving are daughters, Annabelle Palmer of Maryland, Sue Nutter of Parkersburg WV; stepsons, Warren "Stanley" Davis (Dee) of Beech City OH, Richard Davis (Bev) of Mineral Wells WV; stepdaughters, Judy Burdette of Elizabeth, Sharon Young (Pete) of Elizabeth; grandchildren, Leslie, Grant, Gary, David, Lucinda, Greg, Tim, Nikki, Cindy, Michael; 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; sister-in-law, Gladys Davis of Lubeck WV; and brother-in-law, John Waggoner of Beckley WV.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Davis; and grandson, Alex Nutter.
The Davis family would like to thank the Masonic Home for their love and support. Memorials are to be made to the Elizabeth Baptist Church, 804 Mulberry Street, Elizabeth WV, 26143.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 22 at the Elizabeth Baptist Church with Rev. Mark McCloy officiating. Interment will be in the Hartley Cemetery at Brohard WV.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville WV and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church. |
