The historic Wirt County Courthouse will serve as the backdrop for the classical sounds of the Trillium Piano Trio as they offer the 3rd installment of the Centennial Concert Series, Friday, August 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Free buggy rides will be offered on a first come, first served basis before the concert from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
The Trio is comprised of pianist, David Cooper; cellist, Cynthia Puls; and violinist, David Puls. The group performs at many public and private events throughout Ohio and West Virginia and appears regularly at The Castle in Marietta, Ohio and Tamarack in Beckley, WV.
Friday's concert selections will include "Begin the Beguine" by
Cole Porter, "Rondo" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "Hungarian Dance No. 5" by Johannes Brahams, "Black Bottom Stomp" by Jelly Roll Morton, and many more.
The concert is free and will be held on the courthouse lawn in Elizabeth. The public is encouraged to bring their own chairs. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the high school auditorium.
The concert is being sponsored by Reed-Sturm Insurance Agency, Inc. Sound for the concert will be provided by Donald Sheppard of Shep's
Entertainment.
The last concert in the 2011 concert series will be Heaven's Rush on
Sunday afternoon, September 18.
