The children (and some adults) enjoyed a bounce house, duck pond, Greg Fowler International Drag Racing Champion, drunk glasses obstacle course, fire truck, and games.

This year's National Night Out was a success thanks to all that came out and enjoyed the evening along with the volunteers.

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Thanks to Officers Garrett and Starcher from the Grantsville Police Department, Steve "Boston" Heath from the Grantsville Fire Department, County Commissioner Chip Westfall, Mayor Curt Garretson and Town Council members Erin Barnhart and Andrew Smith.

Thanks also to Loretta Propst, Shayla Arnold, and Anne Smith for manning the sno-cone booth; Chris Church for monitoring the bounce house; Carl Ballengee for supervising the obstacle course and 'drunk glasses' - vision impairment goggles used in drunk driving prevention and awareness programs; Burl Simers and Denzil Dye for preparing the hot dogs; Deb King and Carol Sloane for helping with the booths and Queen Mary Fluharty for coming out along with many other volunteers and community members.
